November 17, 2025 – A Cappella Showcase, a women’s four-part a cappella chorus founded in Milton and currently based in Waterdown, ON, recently came in first place at the Harmony Inc.’s International Chorus Competition in Hershey, PA.
The local singing group rose to the top of 24 competing choruses to win the gold medal. A Cappella Showcase scored top marks in the international contest for their renditions of “If I Can Dream” and “I Wanna Dance with Somebody.”
A Cappella Showcase (ACS) is a part of Harmony Inc., an international organization with more than 2,000 members across North America. ACS is one of the largest chapters in the organization, with 85 members. Harmony’s 2025 International Convention and Contest took place in Hershey, PA, from November 5-9.
“This has been an incredible journey for our chorus,” said Artistic Director Jordan Travis. “I’m so proud of each and every member’s dedication and hard work to hone their singing and performance skills and deliver an incredible performance that really touched people’s hearts.”
This is the chorus’s sixth gold medal win as Harmony Inc. international chorus champions. ACS also has several members who sing and compete in quartets. One of those quartets, Emerald, also competed in Hershey during Harmony Inc.’s International quartet competition and finished in the Top 10.
With the holiday season quickly approaching, A Cappella Showcase is now busy preparing for their upcoming show, Holiday Magic, which takes places Saturday, December 6, at 2 pm at Glad Tidings Church, 1401 Guelph Line in Burlington. Tickets are $30 for General Admission, $15 for kids 12 and under, and are available at www.acappellashowcase.org/HolidayMagic2025.
